Palm wood and coconut fiber-Safe?

I use some of these in my bird toy making, but was curious about the chins. After all we use coconut rope, and coconuts for them, so what about the fiber that is surrounding the hard coconuts? Would it be another fun thing for them to shred?

I can't find anything on Palm wood. Of course the leaves are ok, so does that make the rest of the tree safe too?? I've googled the info but not getting anywhere. I'd love some input!

Don't know about the palm, but I believe coconut rope is made of the fiber, there are fibers on coconut shells, from what I have seen coconut fiber is safe.
