Hi CnH family! I have a quick question: has anyone used Oxbow Eco Straw litter? I'm hopeful to trust due to the fact that it is Oxbow and the fact my well stocked PetSmart carries it in 20 lb bags. On Oxbow's website it states the litter is: "Made of 100% wheat straw, can absorb 300% of moisture and it is safe if chins eat it. Plus it separates when wet so clean up is easier and wicks away wetness." So has anyone used this and if so what are your thoughts?

I have never found straw easier to use with any animal. It's messy and it doesn't absorb at all. Kiln dried pine shavings work tons better, are cheaper, and really easier to clean the wet spot out of. Most chins pee in the same spot all the time. Get a kitty pooper scooper and just clean out the wet shavings in the pee spot a couple days a week and the cage will stay much fresher.
