This year I have a date, Jan 16th for 6-8 days.

I just discovered that Disney and Universal are separate parks, any advice?

Should I stay at one hotel for the entire time or book two hotels close to each park?

We will most likely be driving but airfare is pretty cheap too. Depends on how many people end up going and right now there are three adults.

Thanks ahead of time for any insight!

The parks aren't that far from each other, so it's possible to just stay at one hotel. Some of the hotels provide bus transportation to each part, but if you drive you won't have to worry about that.

Bring tons of money!!! I dont know about you, but when I went to DISNEYLAND in California, I spent so much darn money! From a drawing of my boyfriend and I, to little gifts for my family, from a picture frame, from the professional pictures, to a sleep shirt, to the food. Man, I was there only 1 day and I easily spent $500.00 +, and that doesnt include the cost of getting into the park.

I second the idea to bring tons of money. As far as the parks go they are about a 10 minute drive apart maybe 15. Not that bad except it can get really backed up on i4 going to and from the parks. You could always stay in between the parks or maybe stay near Disney for 3 days and 3 days near universal. There are a lot more Disney parks than universal so that's also something to think about but both places are great and you will surely have fun :)
