Hi there,
The past three days, my chinchilla has not been eating almost at all. I gave him new toys to chew on and yesterday he went crazy for them, but his food never seems to disappear. Very little bits have been eaten, but that's it. Not enough, at all.
When I bought him, the previous owner said that he didn't like the food he was eating, but his favorite food couldn't be found in stores here. So I was feeding him the food he didn't like, but he was starting to eat tons of it (I've had him for...probably 6 weeks?)! (it's pellet food) I also ordered his "favorite" food. It came in the mail finally today. I put it in his dish, with the food he "doesn't like" (but was eating before these past couple of days!) and he still isn't eating it! I also am worried he's not drinking enough water.
As far as hay goes, I can't get him to eat any of that at all. I know it should be the majority of the diet, but I don't know if his old owner ever fed him any hay. He seems to seriously hate it. I've tried loose timothy hay, as well as alfalfa hay cubes. He seems to like the cubes better, but won't finish any of them.
HELP MEEEEEEEEE.
