I had an email from a prospective chin buyer that she feeds her chin that she has 'National Geographic Chinchilla Entree' - has anyone heard of this food. Is it good for chins?

I searched it, here's the link to it with the ingredients.

While it looks better than those mixes with the seeds & coloured foods, I wouldn't feed it. It includes a lot of ingredients that aren't necessary.. Like various flowers and carrots.. It seems to be more Timothy hay based too, which is weird, normally pellets are alfalfa based. It has ground corn and corn gluten meal too, which I believe is bad... I'm no expert on chinchilla food though, I'm sure someone else will give a better input on this.

Since it's not a plain pellet only food, it contains treats, that alone would make me say it's not good. It's also a wheat based food not a hay based (hay is the 4th and 5th ingredients) and contains corn (ground and corn gluten meal).

I copied and pasted the info off the petsmart site...
