I was definitely expecting her to knock it over out of curiosity, I was cracking up at how she not only knocked it over and got the top open, but when I went to grab it, planted her little paws on it as ig to say "MINE!" . Ohhh how I love my baby! <3

"Dont touch! MINE!"

Sookie doesnt give up!!!

So I snatched the box from her and placed it next to me while I was doing my homework. She ignored my husband completely and refused to give up on her Cheerios!

She looks like shes praying! "God, please let these bars break!"

How cute! And yeah, Levi does that to the bars on his cage, too. He'll also try to stick his nose through, and see if he just slide through the gaps in between the bars. =D

Awwww yeah, Vincenza goes nuts when we touch her carrier and bounces with intermittent begging stance.

Only pet I've ever had that loves her carrier!

(We use it to take her out for play time)

Sooo cute!!
My chin does that too if i cut playtime a bit short. And then minutes later she's crashed out, too sleepy to do anything.

Awh I hope my chin gets that comfortable with me. Right now, she won't let me get her out of the cage easily. =[

I got Sookie in July and I can say shes only very recently (the past month/month and a half) come around. I still have to struggle sometimes to get her out of her cage.. I think she just does it to mess with me though because there have been plenty of times she hops back in when shes done! I would just suggest you speaking/singing to her often, spend time just sitting by her cage and eventually they learn to trust your presence and BOOM, youll have Sookie-type antics!

What worked for me was letting her out in the bathroom (I made a cardboard tube I could use to trick her in and out of her cage) and completely ignoring her... not trying to touch or hold her, no petting, barely even acknowledging her... Just letting her do her thing. it COMPLETELY changed how she interacted with me, as if she realized that I wasn't going to hurt her when I was around, even outside the cage. Now when she's out for playtime I'm a regular chinchilla jungle gym!
