Can anyone help me or lead me to a site so I can figure out how to do this

Question: 1 of 25: Solve the equation for x: -27x – 5 = -26x

Thanks

I would do it this way..
Add 27x to both sides (-27x + 27x -5 = -26x +27x) to eliminate variable from one side. Then it solves itself...
That gives you -5=x

Ugh, math during summer break. :p

-27x – 5 = -26x
-5 = -26x (+27x) Put the x on same side, add the 27 because it's no longer negative if you're changing the side.
-5 = 1x do -26x+27x
-5=x
