labor question

How long can mom to be, be open before giving birth? I seen her having contractions and checking herself Friday, she was open and still is. All my other girls are only open for 1-2 days before kits are born.

it varies. I have had females open for 2-3 weeks prior to delivery. I never go by that sign. I usually see a drop off in feed just prior to delivery. Are you sure you are seeing contractions?

Yes! She was sitting up and her side were rippling.

Are you sure you were not just seeing kits move around. Typically when mine are having contractions they stand on all 4s with their backs hunched up high, or sometimes they will spread their feet out behind them. I'd say if she has been in labor since Friday you would by now be noticing that she isn't eating or drinking and she'd have a serious lack of energy.
