kit age & wire spacing

At what age does a chin go from a kit to an adult? Are there any in-between stages? (teenager, etc?)

Also, at what age can you go from 1/2x1 wire spacing to something larger, say 1x1?

It really depends on the size of the kits. I have had some that could go at 3 months and others much later.

Every kit I've weaned at 8 weeks minus one was okay with 1" spacing and not even 1x1 but the longer 1x 4 or 5 even. Not actually sure if the other would have fit through but he was a runty "minichin" so he was weaned at 10 weeks and with 1x1 which he was ok with, I don't remember how much he weighed but I doubt it was much more if even 200g when weaned but since he was male he had to come out.

It really depends on the size of the kits. I have had some that could go at 3 months and others much later.

I agree 100%. Not all chins grow at the same rate, so it is really hard to determine off of age. I've never used any wire that had spacings wider than 1"x.50".
