I may be being a little nerdy, but since there are different species of roses, inherently, not all rose hips are equal. Are the specific types to be avoided?

My parents have some rose plants (along with the college campus too) and in the fall I was planning on harvesting them for free. Does anyone else do this?

You need to make sure that they are not sprayed with pesticides. Then the rosehips have to be dried.
