I work for Xcel energy and we deployed 233 crew members to the East coast, they left on Wednesday with as much equipment as they could take. They are expected to be gone at least 2 weeks but could stay 3-4 weeks to make sure everyone gets power restored as quickly as possible. Hopefully it doesn't take that long! Good luck and stay safe to those that were affected by the storms.

Today marks day 5 without power. We have a generator for water (we have a well), refrigerators and for a few lights in the house. The lines for gas can be up to 2 hours long! No heat which isn't too bad until night-time hits. It could be another week until we get power unfortunately. We have a house down by the shore which we aren't sure if it made it through the storm.

So are people having a hard time voting? What is the status with that? The people out there with no power, how are they voting?

We got our power back about two days ago and hot water yesterday. Our town is mostly up and running with the exception of a few stores. We had no trouble voting here

We got our power back yesterday. No problem voting here although they did have to consolidate some voting areas. People in the destroyed areas of NJ are given the option of voting by email or fax. Not sure how that works but it is being done.
