How well do wood sticks keep?

Rick and I were talking today about what we want to do for Trixie this year...new cage, wooden house, hammock (and you know we already did the fleece.)
I mentioned that I would love to stock in a supply of the wood sticks. Just wondering if I bought a big batch, do they keep well? Guess I am asking if they have a "shelf life"? I have a cool place to store them, so how much can I safely buy?

As long as you keep them dry and away from mold, they should last indefinitely.

I store my wood in a container very similar to this one http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000MPQ2S2 I have never had any problems with wood going bad. I use the other drawers for toys.

Those cute little drawers with the wicker baskets are great too! Lost of air flow, but I use the ones above also.

i have one of thosee plastic bins too and have had woods in there for a long time [order alot at once sometimes]

I, too, use the plastic bins posted above. =)

As long as the wood is prepared properly I don't think you'll have a problem with it going bad.

I've never had a problem with wood going bad, and I have a lot of hand stored for my one chinchilla.

Thank you for all the responses. Within the next couple of weeks I plan to go out and buy a storage bin, and then order a big batch of sticks. I have found I have to be careful how many I put in her cage, as she turns into a greedy little girl and will eat them all at once.
