How to introduce?

My girls - Lilly & Dori - are now housed in a critter nation cage. I got the add-on to Lilly's so they each have their own "apartment" right now. I have the ladder up and locked.

How and when should we try out the co-habitation test? I would love for them to be able to share all of that space, but don't want to have fur flying either.
