I have to hold my chinchilla to inject a syringe. My boyfriend tries to hold him but he flays around which ends up resulting in me puncturing the skin several times to administer all of the 1 mL. I hate doing this. What's the best way to hold him so he doesn't flay around?

When I had to give Beck subq Baytril, I'd put him on the kitchen counter, put my left thumb and second finger across his neck, pinch the skin to make a tent with the left thumb and first finger, and give the injection with the right hand. (I got my husband to put a blanket over his head and hold him the for the first couple of shot, but Beck HATES him and didn't tolerate that long.) It gets much easier the more you do it.
