How low is too low (in humidity)?

I was reading a thread on here about chinchilla feet cracking if the humidity is too low. I was wondering how low is too low? What would be a good humidity to keep your chin room at year round?
 
I like it around 35ish. No more than 40% though...


I think that most people keep it at 35%ish...I remember there was just a thread about humidity-you could probably find it in the search if you needed more info

also if your chins feet are splitting try putting some bag balm on them:wink3:
 
With Chicago winters often below zero, we keep our humidifier at 20% for the house. The reason for this is that water will freeze up on the insides of the windows if it is too moist in the house. On days above freezing, I will increase the humidity to 30%. My chins haven't had any problems with this.
