Hello, I'm Destiny. I live in Indiana with my husband and two young children as well as my best friend, Amanda, and her young daughter. A while back Amanda and I decided that we were going to get into Chinchillas and pretty much read every book out there and talked to several breeders in the area. All in all we have learned a lot very quickly because our breeder friends are VERY helpful. We have 8 chinchillas total at this time:

Females:
Nay Nay is a Black Velvet or Gunner Black and she is (I can't find her paperwork... lol) I believe 6 to 7 months old
Tink Tink is a Standard Grey and she is 6 months old
Blizz is a Pink White or Blond Beige and she is 5 months old
Aria is a Touch of Velvet (TOV) Mosaic and she is 4 months old
Primrose is our baby, she is a Mosaic and she is 3 1/2 months old she's so little she still makes the baby sounds at the other girls

Males:
Mr. Fuzby is an Extra Dark Ebony and he is 5 months old
Mogwai is a Homozygous Beige and he is 6 months old
Arthas is a GORGEOUS Mosaic and is 3 months old

We spent a lot of time picking out our fur-babies and finding babies that are close to the same age and have AWESOME personalities. Every single chinny that we have is so outgoing, shockingly so. And 7 out of 8 of them all get along beautifully and the one that doesn't like the others is undyingly affectionate to people. We have been working VERY hard to tame and train our chins and the work is really beginning to pay off. All of them know their names and come when they are called for free play time. We have also been working diligently on clicker training and they know several words such as "Home (go into cage after free play time), Out (Free play time), Treat, and Brave (getting picked up)" They are very smart chinchillas. Our entire family is chinchilla LOVERS.

Aaw! They sound adorable! Great job on the training! My guy know his name, no, and it seems like he understands 'come here' to some extent, but that might just be wishful thinking. I'd love to figure out how to get him to go back in the cage. Sometimes I let him out after work at 11pm and it's after 1am before he'll be happy going back in on his own. But at least he's getting some good out of cage time. I've only had Rue for a month or so now, but I'm looking forward to getting another one after him, though hopefully that's not too soon!

Good luck with the rest of your bonding and training, and welcome to the forum!
