Hedgehog Hogitat

I met a visitor today here at the college I work for. She was from England and was telling me her parents have a "hogitat" in their garden for wild hedgehogs. I guess the hedgehogs hang out in the hogitat and eat the slugs in the garden. I thought this was so funny that there are wild hedgehogs ambling about.

So anyway, I posted this on Facebook as an interesting tidbit, and got a post from my friend who was stationed in Germany many, many years ago. He was telling me stories about how the little hedgehogs would forage about his body the troops were sleeping on the ground during military training maneuvers.

I find all of this was very interesting as I know so little about hedgehogs in general.
