Sequoia is on more unsafe lists than safe lists, both in bird and woodworking sites, I would not give it.
 
Whenever I come across a strange wood, I just google it and when there is more bad than good about it I decline to use it-especially this wood with the potential issues with the splinters that contain a toxin and infections of the mouth. That goes for woodworkers also complaining about the splinters causing infections using redwood.
 
It does seem like a very splintery wood, just from looking at the bark. Lol. I was asking to make sure it was safe because I have a huge tree in my front yard that I want to get rid of. They are so messy and nasty. But since they aren't i'll toss it in green waste trash. Thanks.
