glucosamine/chondroitin

I've heard of the above as being used as a homeopathic treatment for arthritis in hedgehogs, but am not sure about how to dose this. Does anyone have suggestions?

Huffy is already on prednisone for what we believe are cancerous lumps growing in his abdominal region which have been holding out very well. Unfortuantely he is getting very stiff and although prednisone carries some anti-inflammitory properties, we are keeping him on a very low dose (and it is the predilisone version) so it probably won't address his stiffness (besides I hate the stuff from my own experiences and don't wish him to have any more than needed).

I buy the human variety, crush it with a mortar/pestle and then sprinkle a hefty pinch on the hedgehog's food.
