Fur balls?

Hey guys, recently in Leo's cage I've come across little tufts of somewhat matted fur. They kind of resemble dust bunnies about the size of a dime. He's never had these before, and I don't see any patches of fur missing on him from fur biting etc.

What could this be from?

It is most likely nothing to be alarmed about, probably just normal shedding. It will sometimes work its way out in tufts and then when the animal pulls it the rest of the way out with its mouth it tends to look a little matted from the saliva in their mouths. I see them often under the cages of my breeding animals.

Okay thank you. I had recently changed his bedding brand, and although it was still pine shavings I was wondering if he was having an allergic reaction.
