for the last year or so I have been ordering my oxbow hay & food online from dr fosters & smith (on the advice from the oxbow customer service rep) monday i received my 50lb bag of food, mill date was sept 21 and tuesday i received my 50lb box of timothy hay and it was super green and fresh. my chins are loving it. even the ones who do not love timmy!
the shipping is free when you order over $49, which either product is and they are drop shipped directly from Oxbow.
I live in New Jersey, so this was one of the least expensive options. Although we have a lot of farm land around here, i just can not find good consistent hay! and shipping online of anything in that quantity is crazy. the online price at drfoster&smith was $64 for 50lbs, free shipping, if that helps anyone.....just thought i would share.
