I have two healthy 2-year old chins that are full of energy. I don't really want to say they are on the small side; i think sleek is a better word, but they are definitely not as "fat" as my other chins. I'm wondering on member's views on feeding supplements to "fatten" them up and if it's necessary?

If they are energetic, eating quality hay and pellets, and they have firm and plentiful stools, then they probably don't need supplements. Every chin is different size and shape-wise. Some are just smaller and that's okay.

I feed supplements to all of my chins once or twice a week, more as a treat than anything else.

chinchillas come in all shapes and sizes. fattening chinchillas that are naturally of a lean body type is no healthier than extra calleries attening up a person that is naturally skinny
