Gizzie is a 6 year old male with dental issues. Last Friday he went back to the vet because he wasn't bouncing back from a filing 2 weeks ago. During a sedated exam, a mass was found on the inside of his cheek that was actually getting between the rear molars when he tried to chew. It was removed with a laser and has been sent out for a pathology examination.
My question is: How long will it take for that kind of a wound to heal? Needless to say, even eating critical care is a real problem for him right now. He finished his pain meds last night (Bupronex). He is practically squirting saliva and is soaking wet all the time. I wonder if I shouldn't get him some more and if so for how long. Would Metacam be better?
My poor baby is such a mess right now. I feel so bad for him. Sorry for the ramble but I'm kind of concerned and need some help.
