Critter Nation (or Ferret Nation) storage shelf size

Hi guys, I just recently purchased the Critter Nation but I am not getting it until next week. I've been trying to find how big the space is from the storage shelf to the bottom of the actual cage section. I haven't been able to find this info anywhere but I want to get some tubs that will fit nicely on that shelf to store all of my chin stuff. If anyone has the critter nation (or I think the ferret nation shelf is the same height) can they measure that space for me?

Here is a crude pic of what I am asking for...

I measured 9 3/4". I would get bins that are no more than 9 1/2" high including the top.

Thanks Dragonflye! I bought the sterilite containers that are like a drawer and they had them in 10" tall or 7" tall and I wanted to buy the 10" ones but my gut was nagging at me so I got the 7" ones instead...and good thing I did )
