Color Question!

I have a little violet baby who is 6 weeks old. If you part her hair it is very light in color, almost white. Does this mean she might turn into a white violet? Thanks! I'm new at this!

No, a violet's fur should be lighter underneath. Just the top of the hair is the violet color.

Chinchillas have three layers to their fur, the tip, the bar and the underfur. The "violet" coloring you see is the combination of all three layers. When you blow into the fur, you are separating the hairs, making it possible to see the individual layers. What you are seeing as "white" is the bar.
