Similarly, I know that salt can also be used as an abrasive if you don't have a bottle brush. I haven't done this, and I guess the only concern would be completely rinsing the salt out (perhaps with white vinegar at the end) ?

Thank you again everyone. Need to wait until next pay day (07/16) and going to change to glass bottles and try the white vinegar.

Was in PetCo today buying some supplies...looked at the glass bottles. I think I will try one when it coes time to replace Trixie's current bottle. I like the idea of adding a few grains of rice to help clean the grunge off. Will have to try that.

I use a glassware brush then the dishwasher... I also use a QTip in the nozzle (I have a glass tube nipple) and it works GREAT! Once it's clean, I sanitize it in the DW. I have an extra one and I rotate them...
