chins and extermintators

So, we have a minor bug problem at my house and its giving me the heebie jeebies. I want to ask my landlord to spray for bugs, but I'm worried about my chins. I searched and couldn't find any posts on this topic. Do any of you guys have experience with this? Are there methods that are safer than others?

We spray the home perimeter. They should have natural bug sprays though that supposedly are Safe.

When I moved into my apartment complex three years ago, I called Terminix and was told that even their bug spray "could be toxic to rodents." They come about three times a year to spray the building perimeter and the building hallway. I've never had a problem there, but if they need to do anything inside my apartment, I move the chins for a week.
