Chin waving??

I just got my chinchilla two days ago. When I come to the cage and she really wants to get out she will wave her arms around excitedly. It is slightly adorable but I'm wondering if this is normal behavior? It looks like she is trying to flag down a cab....thoughts????

i dont know about waving, but they do get excited some times. And they can throw there hands throw the bars like they are trying to grab you and bring you in.

I haven't exactly heard anything like this so I can't help much other than to tell you hope for someone who has had experience with this issue. If the problem persists with no explanation, I would definitely get your veterinarian involved.

mine tug at the fleeces when they want to come out...lol, sometimes they seem to bop when they want attention. when they want their bath, they would roll on the floor, then look at me with a "come on then" look on their face.
