chin spin placement

I have ordered a chin spin and we have the Prevue Fiesty Ferret cage. I took everything that came with the cage out and we made shelves....

I was going to put the chin spin at the top and then when I looked at the pictures of everyone's cages I saw the chin spins toward the bottom. Is that for safety? Is it just personal preference?

I have mine at the bottom level with the spinning part about 4 or 5 inches off the floor. Every once in a while they get going on it and either fall off or get knocked off when a buddy jumps onto it. I'd keep them low for safety unless you have a fairly large ledge underneath it if it's going to be up higher.

I keep mine near the bottom of the cage for safety and for stability. The further you get it from the strongest supports, the more it is going to rattle and shake the cage.
