chin spin or silver surfer for feisty ferret cage?

I have a feisty ferret cage for my only girl, and I'm thinking of buying her a wheel. I've read posts here saying the chin spin can snap the bars and people recommended adding a piece of wood when mounting it.

So here is my question:

1) Does anyone have a picture of the wood trick. I read about the description but am still not sure how it should look like

2) Is a silver surfer significantly lighter than the chin spin? and if so will it be safer to use in a FF cage?

Not sure if the wood trick is the same as the modification I found for installing the Chin Spin in a Fiesty Ferret cage, but this is what we did and it works perfectly. Takes the pressure off the wire sides, and makes for a nice quiet wheel when our Chinchilla is running like crazy
