I heard that you can give either grass hay or thomas hay to chins. My father is a part time hay farmer and can get me all the hay i need :dance3: The hay he bails is grass hay and I was wondering if I can use that!! Thanks!

You mean Timothy hay, which IS a grass based hay. While timothy is the most common hay, they can also have brome, bermuda coastal, orchard grass. Dont use fescue grass, as its more likely to mold than other grasses. Dont use alfalfa as its too rich for adult chins.

It also has to be horse quality hay, not cow hay, so be sure to speak to your father about that. It needs to be stored inside, no contact with rain or moisture. The mold that develops on damp hay can make your lil chin very sick.
