ChinCrazy and Loving It
I have a back velvet chinchilla that had an upper respiratory infection which led to a very bad ear infection with drainage. He was treated with bactrim which cleared the infections and he has started running in his wheel again. I took him out to play while his cage was cleaned. He started by running in small circles and then hopping with his head cocked to the side that had been infected. Could his ear infection have caused an ear drum to rupture which could explain this odd behavior? There is no sign of the infection after being on the medicine for 3 weeks and except for this he acts and appears normal.
