Cage door

When Buddy has play time, I put his cage in the room and open it so he has free roam of the chin proof room but is still able to run to his cage as his safety net. I worry about him gettin his foot stuck in it. I know I have been told not to buy the normal wheels because of that issue. Should I rig something to it to make it flatter/ smoother and if yes, what could I used to do it? I thought of using some wood or plastic but he might chew it. If I fit it with some fleece would it be a little safer for him?

Just use a piece of 1" x width of door, with a piece the height you need. Maybe put a couple of drywall screws in the end to lock it to the cage. And he can chew it all he wants, too!!
