Is Bradford pear tree safe? We have one that desperately needs a trim, I could probably get a couple pounds of wood from it to prepare for my chin. But I want to make sure it's safe first!

I used the search function and could only find one thread about it, but it didn't exactly say yes or no. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

I think in general fruit trees are ok, that have never been sprayed with any chemicals, but I don't know that with any degree of confidence.

i think pear wood is pear wood, regardless of the type of pear the tree grows. same with apple wood, all types of apple wood are safe, including crab-apple.

Thanks! I'll prepare some and tell you how it goes. Unfortunally I can't prepare as much as I wanted, but it's better then none.
