Boy or Girl?

Ok, so I'm thinking of getting a hedgehog. As a first time hedgehog owner my question is, should I get a male or a female? Is there any difference? Anything I should be aware of from one gender or the other?

There is no consistent difference between a male and female in terms of size, personality, snuggle-ability, playfulness, athleticism, huffiness, anxiety, etc...

Where differences come in are two places:
1. Upon hitting puberty, male hedgies "discover themselves" and leave sticky messes as evidence of that discovery; females do not.
2. If cancer strikes (cancer seems to be among the leading causes of death in our little friends), there's a good chance that it's uterine cancer for a female... and, of course, males don't have a uterus, their cancer will be elsewhere.
