I am not sure what to do. I have a new baby chinchilla with one eye still closed. It is about one week old. Can I use warm water and try and open it? or is there something else that works better?
You should definitely get the eye opened - you should have done that from day one. Use warm water on a cotton ball and gently get that eye opened. At this point it might be infected
Warm water works fine. After the water has had time to soften mucus gently move the eyelids apart. If it doesn't work the first time apply water again.
