This is my Aunt Brenda. It was over 6 years ago she killed herself. She was a great person with some problems. I put this up because she is the family secret. We do not talk about her, but a few weeks ago marked 6 years. She was very successful. She worked with Jerry Springer, The new york times, and magazines such as star.

I do not think because someone took their life they should be hidden away... Her own child even hides away her memory. So here I want to share it! She was a good person, Just misguided sometimes.

We have issues with mental illness in my family, especially on my Dad's side with depression, and have lost now 3 family members to suicide. Sad as it is, I am not ashamed of my family history, sad yes, miss them dearly!
The memories of those we love live on in us, and we shouldn't lock them away in shame, but embrace the love we have of them, and share!
I am very sorry for your loss. 1 year, 6 years, time really doesn't matter when we love someone so much! It's been over 11 years since my Mom passed, and I still feel like it was just yesterday.

Your aunt was beautiful! One of my dear friends lost their mom to suicide a few years back. It is a horrible thing to go through. *hugs* It's good you are remembering your aunt. I know some people hide their memory or don't discuss because it's just too painful. May she rest in peace...
