OK I GOT A QUESTION ABOUT ANGORA CHINS. WHAT ARE EVERYONES TAKE ON THEM? LIKE/DIS-LIKE, WHY? WHO OWNS/BREEDS THEM? I HAVE SEEN THEM AND THEY ARE VERY VERY GORGEOUS. I AM INTRIGUED BY THEM. :heart3:I WOULD LOVE TO OWN ONE SOMEDAY BUT FIRST OF COARSE WOULD WANT TO KNOW EVERYTHING THERE IS TO KNOW. THEY ARE KIND OF EXPENSIVE (I'M ASSUMING CAUSE OF THE ANGORA) BUT ABSOLUTELY STUNNING. WHO FIRST DISCOVERED THE MUTTION AND HOW? HOW LONG HAVE THEY BEEN AROUND? ARE THERE ANY IN THE US? ARE THEY SHOWN ANYWHERE?
sorry about the caps. I have very poor vision and it is easier to see in caps for me but I try to remember to turn them off. I just forgot. I apoligize

I don't know much about them, but there's a decent article on their origin here.

i don't know much about them....but i am also intrigued by them...i saw them on the link posted by CerLynn on chinchilla.com....they are very cute and interesting....they have very cute teddy bear faces...and their coats look very long and beautiful an silky....other than that i don't know much but i would also be interested in learning more...

They are not sold to anyone in the US, Ritterspatch is the only one breeding and selling them, and only sells overseas. It will only be a matter of time before someone ships them to a friend and has them shipped here. They are gorgeous, but would require a lot of extra grooming and being extra careful with cleanings and everything. I can imagine hair rings are a bigger problem!

Unless it has changed, Ritterspach sells them exclusively through .com, he doesn't breed them. They are bred at a ranch in Texas, by Tamara Tucker and her partner.

Thanks for correcting me Peggy! I forgot that he does not breed them.

you can show ANY chin they would just do very poorly (just as would dwarfs)

LOL I agree. I didn't know they weren't available yet. I just thought they were expenive and pretty rare. I wouldn't dare get one until I know a lot more about them. If and when I ever do they will be treated like their namesakes, Royal as in royality, LOL They are just so dang cute and I would love to learn all I can about them.
