    Newest soon-to-be-rescue boy!

Introducing Wassie! I've been extremely busy lately with a surprise litter of eleven baby rats, and a domesticated mouse showing up in my garage (?) But now that about half of them have found new homes and I have the huge aquariums out of the way, i'm ready for some more chinnie love. He's...

Thinking about getting a chin for your child?

I also disagree. As someone who got their first chin(s) at quite a young age, and someone who's parent doesn't give a rip about them one way or the other. From the moment I bought my chin, he was my responsibility. I payed for him, his food, his cage, etc. out of my own pocket, heck, I even had...

    What to do...

Sadly, Muffin passed on today. I have to admit I was kind of expecting it, but not so soon. After completely flipping out for a while, I kind of figure I need to do something with her. Right now she's just in a box on the floor next to me. The obvious suggestion would be to bury her, but she was...

How do we feel about ZuPreem food?

Nope, just pellets. I have heard of the hay, but never the food.

How do we feel about ZuPreem food?

My feed store normally orders special chin food for me, and today I went to pick up a few bags and the owner asked if I would mind switching over to a new chin food. I asked about it and she had a bag, it's ZuPreem Nature's Promise chinchilla food. She said she wanted to switch over because it's...

    Sugar Gliders?

How old is your daughter? A glider can take a lot of dedicated hard work. If you decide to get one, try a couple visits with it/them before you purchase. This way you can get used to how to interact with them, their smells (which are often a big turn off for new time owners, make sure you can...

    question out of curiousity....

I rescued a pair of male/female chins, and when speaking to the previous owner, I was told that they have been together since they were kits (yikes) but have not had babies. I don't know if she was lying or not, but I don't see why she would. They were together for about 3 1/2 years before being...

Bert checking out his new cage

Well, he ripped down one of the top cupboards but other than that it was still perfect. unfortunately, I had to rip it down when I added a second floor to his cage because the way it attatches, the ramp is right in the way. The bottom level is pretty shaded so I just loaded it up with cuddly...

    Chin-ography

Thanks everyone =) Ippo: I tried the whole light box thing once, didn't work out too great... at all... ;) I didn't even know she had a studio, so, lucky break for me that I just happened to have Muffin with me.

    Chin-ography

Aw, thanks, i'm sure she appreciates it! But to be honest, it's all in the lighting. The magic of phtography. ;)

    Chin-ography

She's a little grungy because I wasn't expecting her to be a chinmodel. The next day was dust bath day, hopefully I can get some better ones next time. The very last picture is my absolute favorite <3 *ack, I just realized that when I made the pictures smaller, it TOTALLY ruined the quality...

    Chin-ography

I took over my aunts photography studio last week for a little while and brought Muff along. Got some adorable shots, and she's quite cooperative when it comes to posing, for the most part. Just thought you'd enjoy some cute chinnie photography!

    I couldn't beleive this...

wow. Just, wow. http://detroit.craigslist.org/mcb/pet/1692517019.html I feel so bad for these chins and it kills me that I can't do something for them. Obviously, they haven't found a new home =/ poor things

    Rescues

I need someone who owns/runs a chin rescue that I can interview. I'd prefer you lived in, or near Michigan. thank you.

    Unchain PA

I don't live in PA, and I agree with the rest of the restrictions, but not this one, at least not completely. Sometimes I don't get home until 10 or 11 at night, and like to chain my dogs outside for about an hour so they can get some exercise before I bring them back in to go to bed. This...

    Unhealthy?

I have at least 3 chins in my room at all times of the year, through winter, I have at least 5 or 6, and I've never had any sort of problems with it. I usually don't notice any hair floating around unless I've been handling them in there. Things do get quite dusty, but I don't find it a problem...

My chin always winks at me!

How often does he/she wink? If it's only every once in a while, I wouldn't worry, it can be perfectly normal behavior. If the eye is irritated, you will tend to see watering, and redness around the eye, as well as matting of the fur around the eye. If it's only one eye, keep close watch on it...

finally a picture of Vargs eye.... fungus?

They do this because if the tear duct is blocked, things don't flow properly, and it can either be fixed by running a long tube through the tearduct, or by surgery. Just FYI.
