Haha, bless. It has sawdust at the bottom and his feet don't fit through the mesh. The mesh is quite close together. It's his old one. His new one also has mesh but it's a chinchilla cage, a proper one, and he's been doing fine with it :)

Aw, so cute! That's the cage I was given with him, but he's getting a new one next week. It's a christmas present to Eddie and me from my parents. It's only going to be one level but it's got built in shelves, so he should be happier in the new one.

I've noticed that Eddie sometimes squeaks in his sleep. I know he's sleeping because he's cuddled up in his nest box. He doesn't respond when I sit forward, like he does if he's awake so he's got to be sleeping. He doesn't do it all the time, just sometimes. I think he's fallen asleep on his run...
