It has sawdust at the bottom and his feet don't fit through the mesh. The mesh is quite close together. It's his old one. His new one also has mesh but it's a chinchilla cage, a proper one, and he's been doing fine with it :)

He was fine after that. It was the same bark he did when he first moved in with me. The dog was asleep and it'd been 12 hours since he had seen him. I think it was more a 'is anyone there' bark :)
Eddie and I have gone down to stay in a caravan with my Mum and Dad for a few days because they're visiting me at Uni. He's in his old cage (because we got a new one a few days ago) with familiar objects and there's a dog wandering around.

That's the cage I was given with him, but he's getting a new one next week. It's a christmas present to Eddie and me from my parents. It's only going to be one level but it's got built in shelves, so he should be happier in the new one.
I've noticed that Eddie sometimes squeaks in his sleep. I know he's sleeping because he's cuddled up in his nest box. He doesn't respond when I sit forward, like he does if he's awake so he's got to be sleeping. He doesn't do it all the time, just sometimes. I think he's fallen asleep on his run...
