Those who didn't attend the 2012 Heartland Sanctioned Show missed a real treat.

For the first time the european blue diamond mutation was shown at an Empress Show. After the judges were finished with their job they allowed everyone to come up to the table and evaluate them under the show lights. Mark Miller imported them from Denmark.

Here are some photographs from the show:

Beautiful animals. Thanks for posting pictures. It would be a nice to see them in person.

I took 5 Blue Diamonds to the show. They all received 1st place awards. The judges were very impressed with the fur quality and white bellies. They said they were all very good tools to work with but need to improve overall size to compete further in the show. The breeder has worked diligently with them to secure fur quality and good fertility in them and trying to eliminate any genetic defects in them. He felt this was essential to their development. He believes size and color will be easier to achieve in future now that they have been developed properly for health, fur quality and fertility. The judges stopped the show and allowed everyone to see the Blue Diamonds under the lights. Everyone I talked to was impressed with them and really found them an eye appealing color.

I just wanted to say that even though the photos are great and they're under show lights, the best color, the best way to see them is in sunlight, and that is what Niels told me several times and I agree, they will literally look like they are sparkling in the sunlight.

The Blue Diamonds are at the judges discretion on whether to be judged in Sapphire or Violet class. There were no Sapphires or Violets at Heartland show, so they were judged as their own class. Yes, I will bring some to both ECBC and MCBA Nat'l shows for everyone to see.

Wow, they are gorgeous, they must be amazing in real life. I am going to view a chin show here in Sweden in a few months and can't wait to see the blue diamonds, going to be sure to try and get some photos of that too!
