This was mentioned in chat the other day and I was curious to see if a lot of members had ever had the "Chin Ban" placed on them. That ultimatum that sounds something like, "You are not allowed to buy any more chins." How many animals did you own when the ban was placed? Did it work?

The only ban here is self imposed. I get the eye roll sometimes, but my spouse is pretty good about accepting new furry family members (thankfully). :)

My husband "attempts" to ban me. Every time he says, "I'm getting a motorcycle" or "I need another softball bat", I just say, "Okie dokie. I need some more chinchillas."

My ban is at 8, no more room in the chin room or at work for more, 8 is enough for me personally also.

A better question would be "How long did my husband live after he tried telling me what to do?"
:nah:
Ha ha. My kids keep asking their dad why he even bothers saying no at all, cause eventually in the end the queen rules.:tease: As for chinny bans....who knows, Kiwi could use a little buddy.....I think 2 would be my own limit though.

My husband has said I can have as many as I want as long as I keep them in one room..You can fit a lot in one room...I may need a bigger room soon though

My husband says that I can have two since he knows I am already making plans for number two. I also can't get the second until the next show because we are approaching summer and he doesn't want to a/c two rooms for quarantine. I've already talked to my breeder though and she's going to get a nice retiree ready for a life of luxury.

Eh? What is this word? I do not understand this "no" you speak of.

My boyfriend knew what he was getting into when we first started dating. I showed him the chins pretty early on, explained I'm a breeder and that I eventually want to get to about 100+ chins. He said "as long as they aren't in the house." I told him they need a building and he promised he'd make me one once we had a house. Now we have a house...and I want my building already!! I'm at about 70 including babies.

We have 6 right now, and I am officially banned by the fiance from getting more until we have our own house. Isn't that completely unreasonable? ;)

Kristy - just ask him to build that 50' X 50' barn!
You know he will!
Is that 79 accurate??

My hubby and I agreed I could have whatever and however many pets I want, as long as they all reside in the "pet room". Only my cats, which we've had for years, live in the rest of the house.

Ahhh..........one of the joys of being single. No one to tell me "no".

I'm with you Carol -- I'm the boss of me!!!

I thought that 2 would be plenty. They bonded and were happy.

I was then asked to take in a little 2-legged chinnie that became Little Two Paws Shakur. He has lived by himself for 2 years since Dr. Fitzgerald was afraid that "normal" chins would pick on him.

I had always hoped to find another handicapped chinnie to be his cagemate, and it looks like Little Jimmy may be a possibility...if that happens, 4 would have to be my limit -- I live in a 700 sq. ft. condo and they are in the living room right in front of my couch!!!

Although, I COULD always expand to the bedroom!!!
