Life Line?

So I think I finally have most of the chin basics down, but now I'm trying to start learning some of the more specific details. My first question (and I'm sorry if it's a stupid one...) is what exactly is Life Line? I've heard people talk about it (and seen certain chins eating it off a spoon!), but I don't really know what it is. Anyone want to explain? Thanks!

I think that everyone should have life line in their first aid kit...it works wonder for sick or injured etc. chins...
