ALSO while im at it... he is running around now for play time, and sometimes on occasion he will like run into things as if he is blind or something lol is this normal? or could it possibly be he is partially blind?

I feel like he wouldnt even know if i was close since he is under the pan liner? and he shudnt be afraid of me, ive had him for 2/3 months and he lets me pet him all the time (yet i still cant pick him up)... and its completely quite right now... nobody is here

Maybe 3/4 times a week usually at this time (5pm) my chinchilla will start making noises... he burrows under the fleece pan liner i have usually during the day cus its dark and what not and thats where he makes the noises which is kind of like a heaving noise... he will usually make about 5...

So I have had chinzilla for about a month or two now and just today i got to hold him for the first time! was a lot of fun! i just held my hands together in the cage and he slowly walked up my arms... i only held him for about 10 seconds cus i didnt want him to jump out and then get loose around...

whats up everybody? Ive had my chin for a little over a month now, and hes been great (still cant pick him up yet /= guess i still gotta work at it) but he is great... i just got some fleece stuff in the cage, and it looks a lot better/fun than before.. how does my set up look? anything need to...

figured that it would just take time. didnt know if it was normal to be 1 month+ to be able to pick him up... he is 6 months old

I got my chinny about 2 or 3 weeks ago... ever since I have been opening the cage door and petting him and scratching him under the chin and talking to him etc... he refuses to let me pick him up... ive tried several times and he will just squirm away or run away and doesnt make any progress...

i have the hay holder, and the fleece liner is coming... i guess ill just invest in the baking dish for him to go to the bathroom in and everything will be better

new question!: since he is a new chin, i cant really get him out of the cage too easily, so i just put the dust bath house in the cage for a few minutes while he does his thing, and then take it out... but both times so far he just pees and poops in it! how can i stop him from doing this?

haha yea he is cute, i love him.. rubbing under his chin is so fun, he lovesssss it... and as for the food its something that was in his pellet food in the bag

so i just ordered some lava ledges, pvc tube, pan cover, 18" wooden ledge and a corner ledge type thing... the cage is looking better and better, and he seems very happy! here is a picture:

i cant really comment on anything OTHER than the assembly process since i JUST set up my cage yesterday.... it took me about 45 minutes to do by myself, and it wasnt too terribly difficult.. youll need a philips head screwdrive but thats it... its pretty easy... good luck!

right, I have been looking at some accessories that are fleece lined such as the tube, hammock, and the half pvc fleece covered bed that attaches to the side of the cage... thanks guys! also if i get a fleece pan liner, do i just leave it at that? i dont put anything on top? no hay? then when...
