Per year? Hm, more of an estimate since I grow some of my own stuff.

1. Around $130 (Oxbow 3lb bags x 8, each lasts about a month and a half)
2. Around $20-30 but depends on were I buy it and how much hay I harvested from my property.
3. It really depends on what I process for wood myself, money I have to spend, and if I can stock pile toy parts (a big order can last me years). So maybe an average of $10, but can be up to $100 or more if I have money to buy stuff online and/or I do a big order for parts.
4. $0 (I grow my own)
5. $30 (oxbow poof)
6. Not applicable, personally I don't do yearly exams, but I have a credit card for emergency vet use if needed.
7. Depends on the year and what is needed, if you're considering things like vinegar for cleaner, shavings for the litter pan, and stuff like that, maybe $10-20 a year.

Total: let say around $200 a year.

Thank you for your reply! I saw on some people on quora write they spend $1,000-1,500+ a year for ONE chin!! I honestly have a very hard time wrapping my mind around how you could possibly spend that much.(part of that was $240 a year for dust!😳) I’m glad I’m not the only one who has a budget.😅

I mean sure if I had the money I could easily spend hundreds on toys and stuff. Also I know some people seem to be wasteful, they don't realize you can reuse the dust, and just throw it out after every bath. 😖 As well as they fill the bowl and toss all uneaten pellets and hay daily, chins toss a lot of hay 😅. As well as people not knowing they can buy toys and toy parts online for a fraction of the price big box stores sell them for, especially if you know what websites to go to. There is also a lot of people that think fruits and veggies are part of their diet, which can not only be pricey to buy but also lead to vet bills.

Just doing a quick google search came up with this chart that seems fairly good for a rough idea of normal/basic cost. Though obviously how much you want to spoil your chin, as well as where you live matters too since the availability and prices of things can vary.

Could those who posted budgets, please share the toys you buy e.g., "3. $50-$70 (just placed my orders for 300 toys/you parts at Amazon and allbirdtoybuilders.com)"
Thanks!
