Sorry for the delay. For the duration of Ruffle's illness, I haven't shown any symptoms of ringworm. I'm not sure what kind it would be, but I'm not sure it's passable to humans, but don't quote me on that. Maybe one of the vet members here could speak to that better.

If what the vet is prescribing is working well, I'd keep on with that. What I found was, when Ruffle's eye swelled, it was the result of a ringworm infection, and we had her on a regiment of anti-inflammatory (maloxicam), lactase with milk thistle (I think that's right), and tramadol for pain...

So, in Ruffle's playroom, there's a closet that I keep a variety of cleaning supplies. I learned very early on that the clearance underneath that door was high enough to accommodate her. I've taken to covering it with a variety of materials, but she's learned to pull all of them back to gain...

This actually sounds a lot like what I've recently gone through with Ruffle. Is your chinchilla starting to lose fur around the eye?

Ruffle does this from time to time when I let her out for playtime. It's usually preceded or followed by her happily running around the room, so I've always just assumed it was her way of giggling and carrying on. Sometimes I try and mimic it, and she comes looking for me.
