Not the same paw. The other one. She seems to be ok, but we keep a close eye on her. Sometimes she holds it close to her body but then uses it to hold objects and paw her at the cage to be let out.

Every day I take my chins out for at least 30 minutes so they can run around and have exercise time. As soon as 4am hits they're always biting on their cage. What does this mean? Why do chinchillas like to bite the cage rails?

Went to the vet the next day. Nothing is broken!! We have her on some anti-inflammatory meds and it seems to be working. The other day when I went to close her little cage she stuck her paw out and got it closed in!!! She can still hold food and walk well but I just worry about her so much...

I moved her into a smaller cage and now she seems angry and frustrated. She is overworking herself and her paws are warm :( Do I just keep her in there and let her calm down. hmmm. She's so skittish that I cannot get a good clip of it. It doesn't seem like it is her hind legs but her front paw. She cannot hold a rose hip. She seems to use her back legs just fine.

I came home this morning from work and my poor chin is limping. I have no idea what happened!!!! She's usually so active and full of energy but now she's limping. I line the cage with newspaper before the bedding and use cooking baking soda to absorb urine. They rip up the newspaper a few times and then seem to lose interest. I give them plenty of toys to play with and many things to chew on. If they continuously ate at the newspaper I would remove it...

Occasionally my chin will tilt her head and look at me. Sometimes I think she is being inquisitive, but she doesn't do this all the time. Once in a great while. How do I know if she has an ear infection?

My chin had the same problem but the poos were large and hollow with a small bit of smell. I took both of my chins to the vet and they couldn't find anything wrong. I don't think these vets are experience enough as much as they claim!!!

They share the food, hay, and water just fine. It's the wheel that causes problems. Fortunately they are both calm haven't fought anymore since that day.
