    Is this bedding safe?

It says: "Made from eco-friendly softwood byproduct." Also, copied from the webpage: Eco Flake This product is made from screened, kiln dried wood waste from manufacturers of windows, doors etc. Because it is essentially recycling fiber that might otherwise go to landfills, its use has a...

    Is this bedding safe?

I went to a feed store and asked for kiln dried pine shavings and this is what they gave me. I want to make sure that I can use this as bedding for my chinchillas. Link to the product. http://awf.com/american_wood_fibers_americas_choice_eco.htm

    Fn 142? 182?

I believe the cages are the same only difference is that the 182 is the new model that can be build without tools. The 142 isn't available new anymore, although you might find it used. The actual cage is 4ft not including the stand.

I have the pink version of the silver surfer and my chinchillas love it. I got it about two weeks ago. It seems like a good wheel so far. I think if you search "silver surfer/ grape escape" on the forum, you might find more reviews or information on this wheel. It's quiet. This isn't really...

    Escaped Chinchilla!

I would close the toilet seat if you haven't already, as chins have known to drown. Have you tried calling his name, to see if that works. You could try a treat you know he really likes and try to lure him out, if he is still under the wardrobe. Or ask another person to help you catch him. When...

    chinchillas cage

I think the cage might be okay if you replace the plastic shelves with wooden ones instead, replace the hammock with a fleece one, and add more chinchilla safe items. For the bedding, you can use fleece along with a glass baking dish filled with aspen or kiln dried pine shavings. As for the...
