Is my beige chinchilla beige?

I got a 10 week old from a vet on craigslist. I named her Serenity even though she is the complete opposite, she is around 14 weeks now. The lady told me she was a beige, and when I first got her that's what she looked like, but now I'm not so sure. She is light beige everywhere except her face and back. Her face has a dark mask and her back is dark as well. What color is she?? Or is she a beige?

When I go to "manage attachments" I choose the pics I want and click "upload" it tells me that I already attached the file to a different thread. But I've never posted these pics anywhere before, I took them yesterday.

Do her ears have any freckles? are her eyes red (dark red counts)? If the answer is yes to either question she is some form of beige mute. Your description (assuming she is a beige) with the heavy veiling over her face and back sounds like a brown velvet. See if you can post a link to a picture of her or upload one.

She doesnt have freckled ears, but her eyes have a dark red/brown look to them. I will try and get those pics

She doesn't look beige at all to me. They aren't the best pics, they come up pretty small and dark. Her ears look grey to me, not pink, so I would guess mosaic. I'm no expert though, hopefully someone get see the pics better and can give a more definitive answer.

Those pictures make it hard to tell...the first pic her coloring looks funky...almost like she has no veiling in her neck...second picture her ears do look pink...third pic they do almost look gray.

If it's possible, get her in a well lit room, preferably with a LOT of natural sunlight...take a picture from the side of her as well as several of her face/ears area...honestly, I'm pretty experienced with colors and those pictures cannot give ME a definitive answer

She almost looks a different color/different chin in each photo.

The first one looks like she has a white blotch on her upper back/neck, then possibly gray.

Okay I will try and get some better pics of her today! In the first pic where you said it looks like she has a white blotch, thats cause she does. Its not full on white though, it is more of a cream color. Her ears are a really light/faded pink color. Her mom was beige and her dad was standard grey. The mother died of old age 4 weeks after she was born.

I don't know the mutations very well, but i do have three beige's myself. That chin doesn't look like a beige to me. But i can see how someone that wasn't used to chins could think that. Maybe part beige or something close? Im not sure at all. - You can see in the first pic that his neck is so might lighter then the lower portion of his back.

The second picture i find most interesting. The chin looks like he has an elongated nose (at least from the kinds ive seen over the years.) Is he a different geno or something? (To anyone that might know)

I noticed that the second I brought her home ( the nose) I called her a little piglet cause thats what she reminded me of. Her nose is pink and is long and odd compared to my other chin.
