My little dog who lives in my room with me is absolutely fine with my chin. The chinchilla was around before her and she's pretty good at leaving other animals alone. Our other dog who doesn't live in my room, though, will bark at my chin. It's actually not at all uncommon for my little dog...

It really depends on the individual chinchilla. The ones you've seen were not trained for that or anything, they were just naturally more calm. The majority of chinchillas do not like to be held and would much rather run around, but there are exceptions. I've found that my chin tolerates...

A lot of chins don't get outside cage time and are fine, with or without a wheel, so I wouldn't think she'd have any difficulty adjusting to less free time with a good wheel in her cage. If I do keep her, I'll definitely shell out the cash to get her a wheel. Whenever I for whatever reason...

Awww. Oh, man. You shouldn't have mentioned calling it his "battle cry." Now I'm totally picturing a little chinchilla on a wheel running as fast as he can and screaming "Chaaaaaarge!" in a squeaky happy voice. Hahah!

Here's what I did for my bedroom: I blocked her from going behind the TV (using a filing box on one side and the shelf from my FN on the other). For the rest of the cords along or next to the wall, I either just unplug them and put them up or I just covered them with some extra fleece lying...
